We Need Your Help! Volunteer!
What is volunteering?
“Volunteering
is the most fundamental act of citizenship and philanthropy in our society. It
is offering time, energy and skills of one’s own free will. A volunteer offers
his or her time and skills to a community while receiving no monetary benefit
for this involvement. Individuals who volunteer come from all walks of life –
from the unemployed to the professional. All age groups are represented, as are
Individuals from diverse cultures, abilities and backgrounds.” – Canadian Code
for Volunteer Involvement.
We invite
you to sign up as a volunteer and help us reach the goals we have set-up for
this year’s event.
Festival Volunteers
Thank you
for your interest in volunteering with the Back to Batoche! Volunteers are the
soul of the festival which runs July 19-22, 2012 in Batoche, Saskatchewan. This
Volunteer Program was introduced during the 125th Anniversary Celebrations in
2010, and was very successful. We want the friendliest, most helpful and
knowledgeable volunteers around. If you're up for joining a great team to help
one of Saskatchewan’s premier summer events we'd love to hear from you!
Want to volunteer?
Here’s what you should know:
- Volunteers
are expected to work a minimum of 12 hours (or more... don’t be shy)
- A typical
volunteer shift will be 4-6 hours long (unless you are prepared to take
longer shift)
- Volunteers
are expected to attend training sessions on Wednesday, July 18th at 7:00
p.m. to prepare for their role.
- All
volunteers are given free admission, volunteer vest and pass, one meal
voucher and a BBQ Ticket for the SaskEnergy Volunteer BBQ.

will be entered in a draw to win fabulous prizes.
How the application process works:
Please fill
out the 2012 Volunteer Application Form. Once it’s submitted, we will contact you to confirm we’ve
received your application. You will need to participate in a volunteer
orientation on Wednesday evening, July 18th. We will do our best to accommodate
your requests but cannot guarantee you will be placed in a certain area. It’s
important to have an open mind!
It will take
over 100 energetic and dedicated volunteers to make the Back to Batoche
Festival the premier cultural event in Saskatchewan. Volunteers are needed in a
variety of positions that include such responsibilities as set up and clean up,
venue supervision, campsite captains, gate services, on-site transportation, competitions
and more.
Led by a
group of experienced coordinators, your volunteer experience at the Back to
Batoche Festival will be like no other. You will meet other friendly and
energetic volunteers and maybe a world class musician or two!
Everyone
participating in this event, from the young to the young-at-heart, will
celebrate Back to Batoche Festival as the highlight of their summer. We want it
to be your highlight as well! We are looking for bright, energetic and
enthusiastic people to be a part of our volunteer family.
